Last Sunday, the Balfor Team joined together to compete in the Summer Wolf Run to fundraise for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Seven members of our Balfor Family travelled to the striking Stanford Hall estate, where the landscape was full of wild springs and dense woodland.

A huge well done to Kiren Sandhu, Millie Spooner, Callum Sinton, Rebecca Pugh, Catrina Adams and Siobhan Sullivan who completed the 10k run with some very muddy obstacles.

The Wolf Run

Our team made sure to train months in preparation, ready to raise as much money as possible for Acorns Children’s Hospice!

Voted the best Obstacle Course Run (OCR) in the UK, the Wolf Run is a gruelling 10km obstacle course which tests participants’ mental and physical strength.

It takes roughly two and a half hours to complete the entire circuit of the Wolf Run and all of its challenging obstacles.

Based in the countryside, the surroundings were beautiful – despite having to wade through masses of mud and race up the steep hills.

The atmosphere was amazing, with a real team spirit in the air as groups turned up in fancy dress (the best costume was a stranded Freddy Mercury).

Among the challenges the Balfor Team faced were lake swims, mud pits, fallen trees, ditches, hills, and dense foliage.

With roughly 200 participants in each wave, the Balfor Team officially set off at 12:50 pm and split into pairs of two.

Taking the lead was Kiren and Callum, who managed to complete the obstacle courses at a fast and steady rate.

Many shoes were abandoned in the process, as the mud pits engulfed loose trainers and left racers running barefoot.

The Balfor Team are aiming to raise £2,500 for the Acorns Children’s Hospice by taking part in the Wolf Run and people can donate via the following link – https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/balfor-recruitment-group
