Level 3 Teaching Assistant – SEN Support
Location: Castle Vale
Position: Temporary
Salary: £85 – £100 per day
About the Role:
An outstanding special needs school in Castle Vale is currently seeking a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work on a Temporary This welcoming and supportive school caters to students with cognition and learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and complex health needs.
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting teachers with lesson preparation, creating engaging classroom displays, and providing personalised 1:1 or small group support to pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN) in class and through individualised interventions
- Assist teachers with the preparation of resources and learning materials
- Provide nurturing, compassionate, and proactive support tailored to the individual needs of students
- Collaborate closely with the SEN department and wider school team
- Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Have experience or a strong interest in working with children with SEN
- Be flexible, patient, and proactive in their approach
- Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Show a nurturing and empathetic attitude
- Have experience or training in PECS, Makaton, and supporting students with ASD, SLD, complex, and non-verbal needs
- Hold a Level 1 safeguarding certificate
Requirements:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- PECS and Makaton training/experience
- Experience with ASD, SLD, and complex non-verbal needs
- Level 1 safeguarding certificate
- Valid, recent school-based references
- Full enhanced DBS (registered on the update service or willing to apply for a new one)
- Valid photo ID (Driving License or Passport)
