Teaching Assistant – Secondary Settings – Bury
We are seeking experienced Teaching Assistants to join our team in secondary school settings in Bury and surrounding areas .
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work under the guidance of teaching staff to support pupils with SEND, enabling access to learning and assisting with classroom management. You will play a key role in helping create a positive, inclusive environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities

Support teaching staff in delivering lessons and tailored learning programmes.

Work with pupils individually or in small groups to help them access the curriculum.

Assist with the management of pupils and maintain a positive classroom environment.

Support the welfare and development of pupils, promoting positive behaviour and engagement.
Requirements
-
NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Teaching Assistance.

Experience working with children with SEND.

DBS registered on the Update Service or willing to undergo a new check.

Ability to work effectively within a team and understand classroom roles and responsibilities.

Strong interpersonal, numeracy, and literacy skills.

Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to promoting pupil welfare and safety.

Ability to model positive attributes and promote a positive ethos within the school.
