Are you a compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

We are currently recruiting for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a number of inclusive and welcoming schools in Stockport. This is a temporary, day-to-day role with ongoing opportunities, available on both a full-time and part-time basis – perfect for those seeking flexibility or long-term placement potential.

The Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, and moderate to complex learning needs.
  • Assist in delivering tailored interventions and supporting EHCP targets.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Support emotional regulation and encourage independence through a trauma-informed approach.

About You:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in an educational or care setting
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning, Early Years, or equivalent.
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable with a genuine passion for helping children thrive
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables (desirable but not essential)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
