SEN Teacher – Wirral

About the Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the needs of pupils with additional learning requirements.
Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, school leaders, and families, you will create a safe and supportive learning environment that enables pupils to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
SEN Teacher Responsibilities
Your duties as an SEN Teacher will include:
- Planning and delivering personalised lessons for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Supporting pupils with autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, and moderate learning difficulties.
- Creating structured, engaging, and sensory-friendly learning environments.
- Implementing education, health, and care plan (EHCP) targets.
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Monitoring and assessing pupil progress.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, therapists, and parents.
- Promoting inclusion, well-being, and achievement throughout the school community.
Requirements
To be considered for this SEN Teacher position, applicants must have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Right to work in the UK
- Previous UK experience working within an SEN school, alternative provision, or specialist educational setting.
- Experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or a willingness to apply for one.
