Key Responsibilities – Secondary Teacher

As a Secondary Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging and effective secondary school lessons.
• Teaching your specialist subject and supporting wider curriculum requirements where appropriate.
• Creating a positive, inclusive and purposeful classroom environment.
• Setting clear and achievable learning objectives for students.
• Differentiating lessons, tasks and resources to meet a range of abilities and learning needs.
• Using a variety of teaching strategies to engage and motivate students.
• Maintaining strong classroom management and promoting positive behaviour.
• Establishing positive professional relationships with students and maintaining high expectations.
• Assessing and monitoring student progress and providing appropriate feedback.
• Supporting students to develop their confidence, independence and academic skills.
• Working collaboratively with teaching colleagues and support staff.
• Contributing to the wider life of the school where appropriate.
• Ensuring safeguarding and school policies are followed at all times.

Requirements – Secondary Teacher

The successful candidate will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential.
• Experience teaching within a secondary school environment.
• Strong subject knowledge within their specialist teaching area.
• Experience planning and delivering high-quality secondary lessons.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to differentiate teaching to meet the needs of individual students.
• A passionate, enthusiastic and positive approach to teaching.
• The resilience and adaptability required to work effectively within different school environments.
• A genuine commitment to helping secondary school students achieve their full potential.
