Reception Teacher (QTS) – Birmingham (B16)

Start Date: September
Pay: £160 – £220 per day (depending on experience)
Type: Full-time, ongoing

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Birmingham B16 area. The school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Reception Teacher to join their Early Years team on a full-time basis from September.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher with QTS and strong classroom experience, ideally within Early Years or the Foundation Stage. The successful candidate will bring enthusiasm, positivity, and a strong commitment to supporting children at the beginning of their education.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, play-based lessons in line with the EYFS framework
  • Supporting early development in reading, writing, and numeracy
  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
  • Working closely with a teaching assistant and a supportive Early Years team

The school places a strong focus on pupil progress and wellbeing, ensuring every child develops a positive foundation for lifelong learning.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working in Early Years or Reception (highly desirable)
  • Ability to support pupils with a range of needs, including SEND
  • Calm, caring, and consistent approach to teaching and behaviour management
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • 6 months UK experience teaching within the last two years
  • Experience planning and delivering lessons (EYFS preferred)
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Recent school-based references
  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
