Balfor Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Warrington.
This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) while working alongside experienced teachers and the school’s SEND team. The role combines classroom support, targeted intervention work, and administrative assistance to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive.

The Role
As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting teaching and learning across the school by:
- Delivering targeted interventions and small group support under the direction of teachers and the SENDCO.
- Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them engage confidently in learning.
- Preparing and adapting classroom resources to meet individual learning requirements.
- Promoting independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
- Using effective behaviour management and de-escalation techniques where appropriate.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
- Assisting with SEND administration, including maintaining pupil records, updating provision information and supporting meetings.
- Supporting pupils during transitions and throughout the school day, including break and lunchtime supervision where required.
- Following safeguarding, confidentiality and health and safety procedures at all times.
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who:
- Holds an NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent qualification).
- Has at least 1 years’ experience working within a UK educational setting.
- Has experience supporting children with SEND
- Can confidently deliver intervention sessions and adapt learning activities.
- Is organised, reliable and confident using Microsoft Office and school management systems such as Arbor.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Works effectively as part of a team while using their own initiative.
- Demonstrates patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting children.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a UK school.
- Experience supporting children within the classroom.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Recent school-based references.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
