The Role

As an Inclusion Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 with a range of additional learning needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to deliver personalised learning support.
  • Differentiate learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Deliver targeted interventions to improve literacy, numeracy and social development.
  • Support pupils in achieving their EHCP outcomes.
  • Adapt communication and lesson delivery to maximise engagement.
  • Use positive behaviour strategies and sensory approaches to support learning.
  • Deliver interventions including precision teaching, catch-up numeracy, social stories, Zones of Regulation, Lego Therapy and comic strip conversations where appropriate.
  • Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working in a UK primary school.
  • Has experience supporting pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD or social and emotional needs.
  • Understands inclusive classroom practice.
  • Can confidently deliver intervention programmes.
  • Is patient, caring and able to build positive relationships.
  • Works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months’ UK school experience within the last two years.
  • Experience supporting children with SEND.
  • Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Recent school-based references.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
