Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Sutton Coldfield
Location: Sutton Coldfield
Duration: Full-time, September 2024 (part-time negotiable)
Salary: Negotiable DOE
The School/role:
We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to embark on a new journey with a school in Sutton Coldfield. The school is a vibrant and community-based setting committed to providing the best education possible for their students. The school prides themselves on fostering the holistic development of their pupils, where every child can achieve their full potential.
If successful, the role includes spending the majority of the week class based with occasional PPA Cover (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) responsibility, ensuring continuity in learning and maintaining high standards in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of lessons in line with the curriculum.
- Collaborate with teachers to support the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Assess and provide feedback on student progress and development.
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in school activities and contribute to the overall ethos of the school.
Requirements:
- HLTA qualification (level 4 or 5) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of the national curriculum.
- Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
- Flexibility, creativity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Level 1 Safeguarding (training can be provided)
- Full Enhanced DBS Certificate (new application can be completed)
