Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Selly Oak

 

Location: Selly Oak

Duration: Full-time, September 2024 (part-time negotiable)

Salary: Negotiable DOE

 

The School/role:

 

We are looking to hire a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work with a community Primary school in Selly Oak. This role will be mostly class based, however there may be requirement to cover a class occasionally. You will need to ensure continuity in learning and maintain high standards in the classroom. The school prides themselves on fostering a community where every child can thrive and achieve their full potential in all aspects of life and learning.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and preparation of lessons in line with the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with teachers to support the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Assess and provide feedback on student progress and development.
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in school activities and contribute to the overall ethos of the school.

 

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification (level 4 or 5) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum.
  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Level 1 Safeguarding (training can be provided)
  • Full Enhanced DBS Certificate (new application can be completed)
