About the School/Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a vibrant and inclusive school in Coventry. This role involves supporting teaching staff in delivering high-quality education and may include providing PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) cover, ensuring continuity in learning across various subjects. The school is committed to fostering a supportive and stimulating environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons in line with the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with teachers to support a broad and balanced educational experience for students.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to promote development.
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring student well-being.
  • Participate in school-wide activities and contribute to the overall ethos and goals of the school.

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification (Level 4 or 5) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and lesson planning.
  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively and positively.
  • Flexible, creative, and proactive approach to supporting student learning.
  • Level 1 Safeguarding (training can be provided).
  • Full Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to apply for one).
