About the School/Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a vibrant and inclusive school in Coventry. This role involves supporting teaching staff in delivering high-quality education and may include providing PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) cover, ensuring continuity in learning across various subjects. The school is committed to fostering a supportive and stimulating environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons in line with the curriculum.
- Collaborate with teachers to support a broad and balanced educational experience for students.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to promote development.
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring student well-being.
- Participate in school-wide activities and contribute to the overall ethos and goals of the school.
Requirements:
- HLTA qualification (Level 4 or 5) or equivalent.
- Proven experience working in a similar role within an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and lesson planning.
- Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively and positively.
- Flexible, creative, and proactive approach to supporting student learning.
- Level 1 Safeguarding (training can be provided).
- Full Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to apply for one).
