English Teacher – Secondary School (Birmingham)

Location: Birmingham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Positions: Short-term and Long-term opportunities available

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an English Teacher looking for either short-term or long-term positions, allowing you to make a real difference in students’ learning and engagement.

As an English Teacher, you will deliver high-quality, engaging lessons, help students progress in English, and contribute positively to the wider school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons as an English Teacher across the secondary curriculum

  • Assess, mark, and provide constructive feedback to support student progress

  • Maintain excellent classroom management in line with school policies

  • Promote positive behaviour and effective learning

  • Contribute to departmental planning and meetings as required

  • Support the safeguarding, wellbeing, and academic growth of all students

Requirements – English Teacher

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Minimum 6 months UK  experience within a school

  • Ability to teach English confidently across multiple key stages

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning

  • Flexibility to work in short-term or long-term roles as an English Teacher

Safeguarding & Compliance

  • This English Teacher role is subject to an enhanced DBS check

  • Two references covering a minimum of two years are required
