1:1 Teaching Assistant 
Location: Dukinfield
Start Date: As soon as possible
Duration: Long-term
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:15am – 3:30pm

Pay: £95 – 110 per day

Balfor Education is looking to appoint a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a key stage 2 pupil with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine impact on a child’s educational progress within a warm, inclusive, and supportive school environment.

Located in Dukinfield, this welcoming one-form entry Catholic primary school is dedicated to nurturing every child academically, socially, and spiritually. The Role

  • Provide focused 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with suspected ADHD and demand avoidance behaviours.

  • Help the pupil remain engaged and regulated during lessons.

  • Encourage positive coping strategies and support emotional development.

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and support staff to deliver individual learning and behaviour plans.

  • Foster independence, confidence, and social interaction.

About You

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH needs, ADHD, or similar behavioural challenges.

  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

  • Calm, patient, and nurturing approach.

  • Flexible, proactive, and able to adapt strategies to suit individual needs.

  • Ideally hold a Level 2 or higher Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent school experience.

  • Must be DBS registered on the Update Service.
