1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Dukinfield
Start Date: As soon as possible
Duration: Long-term
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:15am – 3:30pm
Pay: £95 – 110 per day
Balfor Education is looking to appoint a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a key stage 2 pupil with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine impact on a child’s educational progress within a warm, inclusive, and supportive school environment.

The Role

Provide focused 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with suspected ADHD and demand avoidance behaviours.

Help the pupil remain engaged and regulated during lessons.

Encourage positive coping strategies and support emotional development.

Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and support staff to deliver individual learning and behaviour plans.

Foster independence, confidence, and social interaction.
About You

Experience supporting children with SEMH needs, ADHD, or similar behavioural challenges.

Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

Calm, patient, and nurturing approach.

Flexible, proactive, and able to adapt strategies to suit individual needs.

Ideally hold a Level 2 or higher Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent school experience.

Must be DBS registered on the Update Service.
