Dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Wanted in Leicester

Contract Type: Full-time, ongoing
Salary: £95 – £105 per day
The School/Role:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful school in Leicester on a full-time basis. This position involves providing direct support to a child with special educational needs, ensuring they receive personalised assistance throughout their school day. The school is known for its inclusive and supportive environment, with a strong focus on helping every child achieve their full potential, both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1:1 Support: Provide dedicated support to a specific student, helping them engage with their learning and overcome any barriers they may face.
- Tailored Assistance: Adapt learning materials and classroom activities to meet the child’s specific needs, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
- Behaviour Management: Implement positive behaviour management strategies to ensure a calm and productive learning environment.
- Personal Development: Help the student develop essential skills for both academic and personal growth, including social interaction and emotional regulation.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and external professionals regarding the child’s progress and any ongoing needs.

Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly in an SEN environment.
- Understanding of diverse learning needs, including experience with behaviour management and supporting children with physical or learning difficulties.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, showing initiative and flexibility.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
