Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Music to join a vibrant and supportive secondary school located in Birmingham City Centre. This is a temporary position with the potential to become long-term or permanent for the right candidate. You will have the opportunity to shape young minds, develop students’ musical talents, and foster a love for music.

As a Music Teacher, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging music lessons that inspire creativity and musical expression.
  • Teaching a broad curriculum, covering practical and theoretical aspects of music.
  • Supporting students in developing their instrumental and vocal skills.
  • Preparing students for performances and school concerts.
  • Assessing and tracking student progress, providing feedback and support to help them improve.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to promote the importance of music in the wider school community.

What We’re Looking For:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent qualification is essential.
  • Previous experience teaching Music at the secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of musical theory and practical skills.
  • Passion for music and the ability to inspire and engage students.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to creating a positive learning environment.
