PMLD Special Needs Assistant
Location: Birmingham
Duration: Full time, on going
Salary: £85 – 95 per day
The School/role:
An amazing school in Birmingham are currently looking for a fulltime PMLD teaching assistant to work within one of their many classes from ages ranging from 2 to 19 years old. The school is a community special school with students with cognition and learning difficulties in addition to physical disabilities and complex health needs. They aim to provide a secure environment where all the children’s individual needs are recognised and catered for.

The school places a special emphasis on core subjects and offer a wide range of learning opportunities with a hydrotherapy pool and multiple sensory rooms. PECS and Makaton training or experience would be suitable for the teaching assistant role but not necessary. This is a full-time post and will run until the end of the academic year.
The school require someone committed to the teaching assistant role as they need consistency for the children, in return the school will offer all the support and additional training you may need.

Requirements:
- Qualified Teaching Assistant OR Relevant SEN Background
- PMLD, SLD and Complex needs experience
- Level 1 safeguarding certificate
- Recent school based references
- Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport
- Full DBS – on the update service
