About the School and Role:

We are working with a dedicated and collaborative primary school in Central Birmingham that is seeking a passionate Year 6 Teacher to join their fantastic KS2 team. This role presents a great opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive environment. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with KS2 experience are welcome to apply.

If successful, you will work closely with an experienced KS2 Leader and be part of a talented staff team, including support from teaching assistants. The school, rated “Good” by Ofsted, offers a nurturing environment focused on delivering high-quality education to its pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality instruction.
  • Differentiate lessons to cater to the diverse learning needs within the classroom.
  • Communicate effectively with teaching assistants to enhance classroom learning.
  • Provide timely feedback to students and maintain accurate records of progress.
  • Uphold high standards of behaviour within the classroom and across the school.
  • Participate in staff meetings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Engage in the performance management process for personal and professional growth.

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recent experience in a primary teaching role.
  • Availability from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
  • Strong subject knowledge, particularly within the KS2 National Curriculum.
  • Ability to support and manage students effectively, including those with mild SEN.
  • Experience and/or training in teaching Systematic Synthetic Phonics is highly desirable.
