Role Overview: As a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering personalised support to our students. Working closely with teachers and other professionals, you will follow Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to ensure each student thrives in a positive and inclusive setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Individualised Support: Assist students with diverse needs, including autism and ADHD, ensuring they engage fully in their education.
- Promote Engagement: Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and a love for learning.
- Behaviour Management: Utilise effective strategies to promote positive behaviour and support the development of social skills.
- Collaboration: Work with teachers and support staff to adapt lesson plans and activities based on individual student needs.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and document student progress to support their development as outlined in EHCPs.
- Personal Care: Support students with daily routines, promoting independence and personal growth.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Prior experience working with children with special educational needs is essential.
- Qualifications: A relevant qualification in special education or childcare is preferred but not mandatory.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building trusting relationships.
- Empathy and Patience: A compassionate approach and a genuine desire to help children succeed.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
