Teaching Assistant – Bournville
Location: Bournville, Birmingham
Duration: Full-time
Salary: Negotiable DOE
The School/role:
A fantastic school in Bournville who are seeking a passionate and vibrant Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school strives to provide the best quality teaching and learning with an inclusive and personalised curriculum. This is a full-time post and will run until the end of the academic year. You will be predominantly located in the special provision resource base at the school but will also work in other classes supporting a range of children across the school.

Requirements:
- Qualified Teaching Assistant OR Relevant SEN Background
- SEMH and/or SEND experience ideal
- Level 1 safeguarding certificate
- Recent and relevant references
- Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport
- Full DBS – on the update service
Role/Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs.
- Assist in classroom management and behaviour.
- Implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Promote social inclusion and positive interactions.
- Help with personal care needs when necessary.
- Liaise with parents and professionals for coordinated support.
- Adapt and prepare learning resources for students.
- Encourage student independence and emotional well-being.
The ideal candidate for this role will be experienced supporting children alongside children with a range of different academic attainment levels. It is essential that these students have a SEN Teaching Assistant to act as a positive role model as well as good academic knowledge to provide lesson support. This will require patience, commitment and the ability to provide a safe and welcoming learning environment.
