Position Overview: We are urgently seeking a talented and dedicated Specialist SEN Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality education and support to students with a range of special educational needs, ensuring they receive the tailored instruction and resources they require to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs and abilities of students with SEN.
  • Provide individualized support and interventions to students, addressing their specific learning needs and challenges.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), therapists, and external professionals to develop and implement effective strategies and interventions for students with SEN.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported to reach their full potential.
  • Monitor student progress and assess learning outcomes, adapting teaching methods and resources as necessary to meet evolving needs.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on student progress, achievements, and areas for development.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience teaching students with SEN.
  • Specialized training or qualifications in SEN teaching or related areas (e.g., National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination).
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of a range of SEN conditions, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language difficulties.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs and styles.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
