About Us

Balfor are working on behalf of well-established education trust who are looking for SEN teachers to work across their fantastic SEN schools. We are looking for full-time committed teachers to provide a nurturing and inclusive educational environment for all students, especially those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The trust has a range of different schools that could provide some fantastic opportunities for ECT’s and experienced teachers.

The schools are a mix of settings, both primary and secondary covering a range of different needs including ASD, SLD, Complex needs and behaviour (SEMH) classes. All the special schools are located across Birmingham including, Stechford, Hall Green, Castle Vale, Sparkbrook and Kings Norton.

The schools are dedicated to fostering a supportive community where every student can achieve their full potential. We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teachers to join the amazing dynamic schools and make a significant impact on the lives of the students.

 

Job Description

As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, individualized education to students with a range of special educational needs. You will work closely with the teaching assistants, and other staff to create and implement effective teaching strategies and support plans.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of students with SEN.

Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, in collaboration with the SENCO and other staff.

Monitor and assess the progress of students, adjusting teaching methods and resources as needed.

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.

Work closely with parents, guardians, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students.

Provide guidance and support to teaching assistants and other classroom staff.

Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and development.

 

 

Requirements:

Experience teaching children or young people, in an educational setting.

A genuine interest in supporting the learning and development of students with SEN.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • QTS (Qualified teacher status) or equivalent
  • SEN school-based experience
  • The last 2 years covered references
  • Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport
  • Full DBS – on the update service (We can provide one for you)
