Job Title: Children’s Social Worker – Kinship & Fostering
Location: Herefordshire, United Kingdom
Pay: £21.00 – £23.00 per hour
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Duration: 3 month contract
Additional Benefits:
- £150 per week accommodation allowance.
- 45p per mile business mileage reimbursement.
About the Role:
Are you an experienced and passionate Social Worker ready to make a real difference? Join our Kinship & Fostering Team in Herefordshire and play a vital role in improving the lives of children and young people.
In this role, you’ll work within the Kinship part of the Fostering Team, focusing on:
- Assessing connected person foster carers and Special Guardians.
- Supervising and supporting approved connected foster carers.
- Managing private fostering work.
- Providing ongoing support to Special Guardians post-order.
As a dedicated and enthusiastic professional, you’ll contribute to ensuring that Kinship carers receive the support and recognition they deserve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of carers and provide comprehensive, analytical reports for court within required timescales.
- Deliver high-quality supervision and support to foster carers, empowering them to provide the best possible care.
- Collaborate with a committed team to drive continuous improvement for children, young people, and carers.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Fully qualified (DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent).
- Social Work England Registration (formerly HCPC)
- Enhance DBS registered onto the update service.
- 5 years referencing
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in statutory social care, preferably in Kinship & Fostering.
- Skills: Strong expertise in assessment and supervision, with a proven ability to prepare detailed reports for court.
- Passion: A commitment to improving the lives of children, young people, and carers.
