SEN Teaching Assistant – Wolverhampton, West Midlands

 

Duration: On-going, long term

Pay: £70 – £85 per day depending on experience

 

About the school:

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a lovely SEN school based in Wolverhampton. The school are committed to promoting an inclusive curriculum, high expectations for all and building a positive link with parents/careers of those children we are lucky enough to educate.

The school educates 195 students from Early Years to Post 16, with a range of needs that are supported through the day to day school experience as well as specialist interventions from the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) working alongside students and their parents/careers.  MDT includes: School Nurse, Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, CAMH’s clinician, Counselling and Play Therapists.  All professionals meet regularly to ensure a joined up approach with each student they work with.

The Role:

Balfor Education are recruiting for a SEN school in the Wolverhampton area that are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work with them on a full-time basis from as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity for someone who is experienced with special needs and looking after both young and older children. The school require someone who can support Complex learning and physical needs in children, and able to manage these needs effectively. Including those who are in wheelchairs, who have development needs and who may require complex care.

 

The school are looking for someone with strong knowledge of Special Needs at primary or secondary age ranges and must have worked within a SEN school previously.

You will be supporting with young individuals ensuring they have the best care available. You must be able to provide personal care, ensuring you are assisting the children in all aspects of their day.

 

This is a full time role, for 5 days (Monday to Friday) and will initially last a term, this could potentially be extended for the right candidate

 

Requirements:

  • Level 3 NVQ
  • Level 1 Safeguarding certificate
  • Recent school based experience
  • 2 x recent references
  • In date Photo ID
