Teaching Assistant (SEN)

Location: Wolverhampton
Salary: £85 – £105 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: Part-time and Full-time positions available

We are currently looking for dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join our team at an established Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Wolverhampton. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment. We are open to both part-time and full-time applicants who have experience working with children in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs.
  • Assist in the delivery of tailored learning plans and activities, ensuring accessibility for all students.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Support the teacher in maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their personal development and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members to meet the individual needs of students.

Key Skills:

  • Experience working with children in a school setting (preferably with SEN children).
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to different learning needs and styles.
  • A proactive attitude, with a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Ability to manage behaviour effectively and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Team player with a flexible and supportive approach.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting is essential.
  • A clear Enhanced DBS check (on the update service is highly desirable, but not essential)
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions from senior staff.
  • Passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs.
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is beneficial but not required.
