SEN Teaching Assistant – Birmingham, West Midlands

Pay: £85 – £100 per day depending on experience
About the school:
One of our amazing SEN schools based in Stechford are looking for an experienced full time special needs TA.
The school is a community day special school for 87 primary aged children (3-11 years) with severe and complex learning difficulties. Pupils who attend the school travel from various areas of the city on education transport. They are committed to ensuring the best possible education for their pupils and maintain strong community links. All the children who attend the school have an Education, Health and Care Plan, which is issued following a full assessment involving a range of professionals.
The Role:
Balfor Education are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis from as soon as possible. The role requires someone who has worked with children or individuals with special educational needs. Some of the needs you would be working with include ASD, SLD and Complex needs. As you will be working with children who may be non-verbal or have physical disabilities, patience and enthusiasm will be necessary. Due to the nature of the role, personal care will be required for certain pupils.
The school need an individual with strong knowledge of Special Needs to best cater for the needs of the pupils. However, the school are willing to interview individuals with transferable skills from care or residential backgrounds. This is a full-time position (Monday to Friday) for the whole academic year 2023/2024 with the view to go permanent.
Requirements:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Level 1 Safeguarding certificate
- Relevant experience
- 2 x recent references
- In date Photo ID
