SEN Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a caring and dedicated teaching assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will primarily work one-on-one with a pupil, helping them with their learning and development, based on their Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). You’ll work closely with the class teacher and the school’s SENCo to adapt lessons and help the pupil build social skills and confidence.
Key Duties:
- Provide one-on-one support for a pupil with SEN.
- Help implement the pupil’s EHCP.
- Assist in developing their social skills and independence.
- Report on the pupil’s progress.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure an inclusive environment.
- Help manage challenging behavior.
Requirements:
- Recent experience working with children, especially those with SEN.
- Personal care experience.
- Knowledge of SEN and commitment to supporting these pupils.
- DBS registered on the update service.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Desirable:
- Qualifications in education or SEN.
- Experience with EHCPs.
- Health and social care training, including safeguarding.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4 pm.
