A leading  school in Liverpool is seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team.

Role Overview

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and emotional development of students. Working closely with teachers and other professionals, you will help deliver tailored learning programs designed to meet each child’s unique needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personalised Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with needs such as autism, ADHD, and other learning challenges.
  • Encouraging Participation: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, motivating students to engage actively in lessons.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement effective strategies to manage classroom behaviour and foster positive interactions.
  • Collaborative Planning: Assist in adapting lesson plans alongside teachers and other staff to meet individual learning objectives.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track student development and contribute to the creation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Personal Care Assistance: Support students with personal care needs, encouraging independence wherever possible.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: At least one year of experience working with children with special educational needs is essential.
  • Qualifications: A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or similar is preferred but not mandatory.
  • DBS: Enhanced DBS Registered on the update service
  • Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills are vital.
  • Empathy and Patience: A caring and understanding approach, with a passion for supporting children with special needs.
  • Team Spirit: A collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a dynamic school environment.
