A leading school in Liverpool is looking for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teachers to join their team.
Role Overview
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in fostering the educational and emotional growth of students with diverse needs. You’ll work closely with support staff, parents, and other professionals to design and deliver individualized learning programs that help each child thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Tailored Instruction: Plan and deliver engaging lessons designed to meet the specific learning needs of students with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, and other challenges.
- Classroom Management: Create a structured, inclusive, and positive learning environment that supports all students’ development.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other staff to implement and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Progress Monitoring: Assess and track student progress, making adjustments to teaching strategies as needed to ensure academic and personal growth.
- Supportive Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and collaborating to address any concerns.
- Promoting Independence: Encourage the development of life skills and self-reliance in students wherever possible.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: At least one year of experience teaching children with special educational needs.
- Qualifications: A Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialization or experience in SEN.
- DBS: Enhanced DBS registered on the update service.
- Skills: Excellent classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Empathy and Patience: A caring and understanding approach, with a passion for supporting children with SEN.
- Team Spirit: A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic school environment.
