SEN Primary Teacher – Birmingham

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Primary Teacher to join a vibrant primary school in Birmingham. This full-time role offers the opportunity to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and make a real impact on their educational journey. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), we welcome your application!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to students with SEN, ensuring they access the full curriculum.
  • Support the development of individual learning plans and monitor student progress.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies that promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, parents, and external agencies to support the children’s development.
  • Create and maintain a safe, nurturing classroom environment where all pupils feel supported.
  • Regularly assess and report on student progress and adapt teaching methods as needed.

Key Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SEN and how to effectively differentiate teaching for a range of needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • Ability to create engaging, differentiated lesson plans that support all learners.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • A commitment to ensuring the well-being and academic success of every child.
  • Ability to reflect on your own practice and make continuous improvements.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • A current DBS check on the Update Service (highly desirable but not essential)
  • We accept applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) – we’re committed to supporting the development of new teachers.
  • Strong organisational skills and a flexible, proactive approach to teaching.
