Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? A primary school in Yardley is looking for a compassionate and dedicated individual to join their team as soon as possible to provide one-on-one and small-group support for children with SEMH challenges.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage in learning and build confidence.
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Implement strategies designed to help children self-regulate and build resilience.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to deliver targeted interventions that align with the children’s individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and report on progress, ensuring communication with staff and parents is clear and consistent.
  • Offer emotional and practical support to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs in a school setting.
  • A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting vulnerable students.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively within a school environment.
  • A flexible attitude and the ability to adapt to varying needs throughout the school day.
  • A Level 2/3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable but not essential).
