SEMH Teaching Assistant – Walsall – May 2025 Start

We’re recruiting a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and forward-thinking school in Walsall this May 2025. This is a full-time role, offering a rewarding opportunity to support students on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them overcome barriers to learning.

Role Responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom

• Building positive relationships to promote self-esteem, confidence and engagement

• Working closely with teaching staff and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions

• Managing challenging behaviour in a calm and supportive way

What we’re looking for:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (school, care or youth work experience welcome)

• A calm, patient and nurturing approach

• Strong behaviour management skills

• A genuine desire to support and empower young learners
