SEMH Teaching Assistant – Walsall – May 2025 Start
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have the resilience, empathy and dedication to support students in achieving their full potential?
We’re recruiting a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and forward-thinking school in Walsall this May 2025. This is a full-time role, offering a rewarding opportunity to support students on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
Role Responsibilities:

Supporting pupils with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom

Building positive relationships to promote self-esteem, confidence and engagement

Working closely with teaching staff and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions

Managing challenging behaviour in a calm and supportive way
What we’re looking for:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (school, care or youth work experience welcome)

A calm, patient and nurturing approach

Strong behaviour management skills

A genuine desire to support and empower young learners
