SEMH Teacher
Location: Oldbury
Duration: Full time, ongoing
Start Date: September 2024
Salary: £162 – £260 per day
The School/Role:
Balfor Education are working with an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ SEMH school based in Oldbury that seeks a strong, passionate, and resilient SEMH Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.
The school is committed to offering a second chance to students aged 11 to 16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) who may not thrive in mainstream education. Since its establishment, the school has provided a positive environment where every student is encouraged to succeed. The alternative provision offers a personalized learning approach to facilitate a smooth reintegration or transition for students into suitable educational settings, providing them with the essential skills for future achievements.
As an SEMH Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young people, guiding them towards a brighter and more fulfilling future.
Requirements:
- QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
- The ideal candidate will have prior experience teaching in a PRU.
- PECS and Makaton training/experience
- ASD, SEMH, Non-verbal, PMLD, MLD, visual impairment needs experience
- Level 1 safeguarding certificate
- Recent school-based references
- Valid Photo ID – Driving License or passport
- Full DBS – on the update service
