Science Teacher – Birmingham
Full-time | Ongoing | £32,359 – £46,263/year

We are seeking an experienced Science Teacher for an Academy in Birmingham that supports students aged 13-16 who have struggled in mainstream education. The school focuses on helping students with unmet additional needs, disengagement from mainstream education, and challenges related to peer relationships and attendance. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and manage a diverse group of students with additional needs
  • Develop and deliver detailed lesson plans with the support of a teaching assistant
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of educators to enhance teaching practices
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for all students

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Proven experience in planning and delivering science lessons
  • Level 1 safeguarding certificate
  • Recent school-based references
  • Enhanced DBS (or registered on the update service)
