Hours: 30 – 40  per week

Salary: 19,000 – 20,500

Shift pattern  10pm – 8am

If this, is you Balfor have a rewarding full-time opportunity for a Night Children’s Residential Support worker for a 3 bed Home in Birmingham.

The home is an established service that accommodates children and young people from the ages of 8 – 18 with emotional and/or behavioural difficulties.

Requirements

  • 1 year’s Minimum experience working with children (preferably as a Residential Support Worker)
  • level 3 qualification in Residential Care or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with EBD.
  • Restraint Trained (Desired).
  • Clear Enhanced DBS registered on the update service.
  • Full driving Licence with access to a car (Essential)

This is a permanent position, and you will be required to work full hall days and Sleep in shifts.

Support Worker Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support with nightly tasks: such as medication and domestic duties.
  • To participate in the day-to-day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment.
  • To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required
  • Always ensure that the ethos of the Statement of Purpose is applied.
  • Adhere to statutory policies and procedures.
  • To be a Key Worker where designated and contribute to the child or young person’s plan which reflects his/her care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic and health needs. Ensure that this plan is regularly reviewed in conjunction with other team members.
  • Be alert to signs of distress or abuse and to ensure that the child or young person is monitored and protected.
  • Work within the safeguarding and child protection guidelines, following the reporting procedures where appropriate.
  • Be aware of children’s rights and work in an anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive manner.
  • Contribute to childcare planning and review meetings when required.
  • Ensure that confidentiality is always maintained and observe data protection guidelines.
