Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to work closely with students who need additional support with their academic, social, or emotional development. This is a great opportunity to help young people overcome challenges and achieve success in a secondary school environment.

As a Learning Mentor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to help them overcome barriers to learning.
  • Working closely with teachers and other staff to develop tailored support plans for students.
  • Encouraging positive behavior and helping students to stay focused on their learning.
  • Offering emotional support and helping to build students’ confidence and self-esteem.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing regular feedback to teachers and the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a Learning Mentor or similar role is needed (minimum six months).
  • A genuine passion for working with young people and helping them succeed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
  • The ability to adapt to the individual needs of each student.
