Development Pharmacist + EDC

Balfor Healthcare currently have an opportunity for a Development Pharmacist to join Wye Valley NHS Trusts friendly team on a temp to perm basis.

Situated on the border of Wales, set in a beautiful, rural location, we can offer a great work-life balance.

If you are newly qualified, completed your pre-registration or have registered in the last couple of years, this is a perfect opportunity to move into the hospital sector.

You will join our team on a structured foundation level development programme which takes you through the first three years, and includes completion of the clinical diploma, and progression to band 7 in year 3.

You will rotate through technical services, dispensary, medicines information and ward based services, gaining a wide range of experience across the major clinical specialties.

The post provides a structured progression over three years, whereby the post holder undertakes the diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice

Job Responsibilities

  • Participates in the provision of a comprehensive pharmaceutical service.
  • Work within a range of sections within the pharmacy including Dispensary, Technical Services and Medicines Information.
  • Contribute to the provision of chemotherapy, parenteral nutrition and CIVAS from Technical Services, by providing pharmacist clinical and in-process checks.
  • Answer complex queries from healthcare professionals and the public regarding aspects of medicine use.
  • Contribute to the departmental weekend and bank holiday services.

Essential Requirements

  • MPharm or equivalent academic qualification
  • Completed Pre-Registration year leading to membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Current membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy (to be commenced in post, and to complete year 1 before progression to a band 7)
