Design and Technology (DT) Teacher

Are you a creative and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher looking to inspire the next generation of innovators? Balfor Education is currently recruiting for a dynamic DT Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Coventry. This full-time, ongoing role is ideal for someone who is passionate about hands-on learning and has a flair for bringing practical subjects to life.
The school is committed to delivering an engaging and inclusive curriculum that supports all learners in developing critical thinking, technical skills, and confidence in design and manufacture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Teach across a range of specialisms including Resistant Materials, Product Design, and Graphics
- Foster creativity and problem-solving through practical projects
- Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop environment
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
- Work collaboratively with staff to promote STEM subjects and enrichment opportunities
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Proven experience teaching Design & Technology in UK secondary schools
- Up-to-date knowledge of the national curriculum and health & safety regulations
- Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to student engagement
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Two relevant references from recent teaching roles
- Level 1 Safeguarding certificate (or willingness to obtain)
