Position Overview: As a Complex Behavioural Learning Needs Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students with diverse behavioural challenges. Your compassion, patience, and enthusiasm will help empower our students to overcome obstacles and achieve success. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students, teachers, and support staff in a collaborative and dynamic educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with complex behavioural needs, both in and out of the classroom.
- Implement individualized behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans for students.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages social interaction, communication, and independence.
- Monitor student progress, behaviours, and achievements, and communicate any concerns or developments to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience working with individuals with complex behavioural needs, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education, psychology, counselling, or behaviour management are desirable but not essential.
