Balfor Healthcare are currently seeking a Clinical Pharmacist Band 7 to join Wye Valley NHS Trusts friendly team on a temp to perm basis.
Located in Herefordshire, on the border of Wales, this is a perfect opportunity to study and attain an independent prescribing qualification, whilst working within a beautiful rural location.
The Clinical Pharmacist will be part of the Multidisciplinary Clinical Pharmacy Team, working in a patient facing role at a specialist level, to provide a medicines optimisation service and will be suitable for a pharmacist who has completed year 1 of the clinical diploma.
Job Responsibilities
The Clinical Pharmacist will:
- Provide operational support when necessary to the dispensary (currently 2-3 1 hr slots per week).
- Provide Pharmacy Emergency Duty Commitment including weekend / bank holiday cover as per the rota.
- Participate in the day to day clinical pharmacy service to the general and specialist wards and clinics.
- Screen prescriptions within the Trust Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) and make entries in the patient’s electronic record.
Essential Requirements
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as Pharmacist
- Working towards or completed a 2 year Clinical Pharmacy Diploma or equivalent hospital pharmacy experience. Note: year 1 (certificate level) must be completed
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of best practice and legal requirements relating to medicines optimisation
- Relevant experience as a hospital pharmacist in an acute health care setting
- Able to communicate effectively using a variety of methods (written, verbal, presentation)
