Salary: £60k Basic + £10k Bonus + Benefits

About Our Client

Our client is dedicated in providing the highest standards of care and support to children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. Our client’s established 4 bed care home is equipped to the highest standards and offers the very best in care and support.

The Role
As Children’s Home Manager, the role involves playing a key role in the daily running of our children’s home in Birmingham. The suitable person will manage a team of dedicated staff, ensuring the home is a safe, welcoming place where children receive the care, attention, and support they need to grow and overcome challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the children’s home to ensure the highest standards of care and safeguarding.
  • Support the development and implementation of individual care plans tailored to each child’s needs.
  • Mentor and manage a team of skilled care staff, offering training and guidance to ensure a high standard of care.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and safeguarding standards.
  • Build positive relationships with external agencies, families, and stakeholders to support the wellbeing of children.
  • Be a role model, demonstrating compassion, respect, and leadership in all aspects of the role.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a managerial role within an EBD children’s home or residential care setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with a genuine desire to lead and support a team in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding, regulatory frameworks, and the emotional and psychological needs of children in care.
  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or equivalent) is highly desirable, though we will support you in achieving this if not already attained.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
