Location: Handsworth Birmingham

Duration: Fulltime and Permanent

Salary: £25,000 – £29,000

Balfor Recruitment are currently seeking a Children’s Home Deputy Manager for one of our established clients within residential childcare. We are looking for the right Deputy Manager to work in their 3 bedded EBD Home in North West Birmingham.

As the Deputy Manager you will lead and manage the residential childcare team and oversee delivery of care plans, risk assessments and behavioural management plans for young people.

You will be responsible for managing stakeholder relationships and community engagement, where you must have up-to-date knowledge of Childcare legislation, Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.

You are required to support and work with the registered manager to ensure that the home meets the standards and expectations of its Statement of Purpose; and promote safeguarding and welfare of residents.

. Duties will include

  • To be the designated person in charge in the Manager’s absence.
  • Be part of  company’s selection and recruitment processes.
  • To organise, deliver and co-ordinate induction, supervision, appraisal and support to individual staff.
  • To review the implementation of care plans in line with legislation and company guidance.
  • To chair meetings where appropriate.
  • To be a part of an on-call system outside of designated hours.
  • Identify own and teams training needs.
  • Participate in the  development and maintaining of quality initiatives within the home.
  • To manage identified budgets.
  • To chair staff meetings and young people’s meetings.

Requirements

  • Experience working as a deputy, senior/Team leader in residential childcare.
  • Level 3 Residential Childcare/Children & Young people’s workforce.
  • Must hold a full driving license.
  • Extensive experience of working with children with challenging and emotional behaviour in a residential care setting.
  • Enhanced DBS Check.
  • Satisfactory Referencing.
