Job Title: Care Assistant
Location: Stoke on Trent
Pay Rate: 12.86 per hour
Reports to: Team Leader and Manager
Job Purpose:
To enable customers to lead as active and independent lives as possible by providing holistic and personal care in a compassionate and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Person-Centered Care: Provide tailored care and support (including laundry, housekeeping, and kitchen duties) to meet individual needs as identified in the care plan, whilst promoting customer choice, dignity, and independence.
- Delivering Care Plans: Ensure all care plans are followed accurately, with any changes documented and communicated appropriately.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean, safe environment for customers, adhering to all health and safety policies and ensuring the location remains free of hazards and odors.
- Documentation: Complete accurate and legible records of care and support, reporting any changes in customer needs and participating in reviews as required.
- Social and Emotional Wellbeing: Assist in facilitating social activities that promote customer engagement and satisfaction.
- Building Relationships: Act as a key worker, developing relationships with customers, their families, and other professionals, ensuring consistent and compassionate care.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Ability to read, understand, and contribute to care plans.
- Proficient in all aspects of personal care.
- Familiarity with health and safety procedures, manual handling, safeguarding vulnerable adults, food hygiene, and the Mental Capacity Act.
- Commitment to high-quality person-centered care, with an understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage time efficiently in a care setting.
Experience and Qualifications
- 6 months UK experience in a care environment required.
- Care Level 2 Diploma (or willingness to obtain).
- Enhanced DBS on the update service.
