Business/Computing Specialist Teacher
Location: Birmingham
Duration: Full-Time, Ongoing
Salary: £180 – £240 per day

About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Business/Computing Specialist Teacher to join a well-established Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Birmingham. The PRU supports students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, offering personalised education and support. The role involves delivering high-quality, engaging lessons in Business and Computing to students with diverse learning needs, providing them with the skills and knowledge to succeed in both academic and real-world contexts. This is a full-time, ongoing position, lasting until the end of the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Business and Computing tailored to the needs of students with SEMH
  • Provide students with the knowledge and skills required for real-world business applications, including digital literacy and computing skills
  • Foster a positive learning environment that is safe, inclusive, and supportive
  • Work closely with counsellors, parents, and staff to provide tailored support for students’ academic and emotional needs
  • Assess students’ progress and provide continuous feedback to help them achieve their potential
  • Promote digital literacy and prepare students for future career opportunities in the business and computing sectors

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher or relevant experience in Business/Computing teaching
  • Experience working in SEMH/SEN settings
  • Strong knowledge of Business Studies and Computing curriculum
  • Experience with digital tools and technologies used in Business/Computing education
  • Level 1 safeguarding certificate
  • Recent school-based references
  • Valid photo ID (e.g., driving licence or passport)
  • Current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
