Behaviour Mentor – Wolverhampton – Full-Time, Ongoing – May 2025 Start

A dynamic and supportive school in Wolverhampton is looking for a Behaviour Mentor to join their pastoral and inclusion team from May 2025 on a full-time, ongoing basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a positive role model and help shape brighter futures for students who need guidance, structure, and encouragement.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you’ll work closely with pupils who may be at risk of exclusion, display challenging behaviour, or need additional emotional and behavioural support. You will deliver targeted interventions, promote positive behaviour strategies, and support students both inside and outside the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support to identified students

De-escalate incidents calmly and effectively using restorative approaches

Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to promote self-regulation and emotional resilience

Support teaching staff with classroom management strategies

Monitor student behaviour, track progress, and contribute to behaviour plans

Liaise with pastoral leaders, SENCOs, and external agencies when necessary
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
-
Experience working with young people with behavioural, emotional, or social needs (SEMH)

A calm, consistent and patient approach with excellent interpersonal skills
-
Confidence in managing challenging behaviour and using positive reinforcement
-
A background in youth work, PRUs, pastoral support, SEN, or similar environments is desirable
-
Relevant training (Team Teach, MAPA, Thrive, etc.) is a bonus but not essential

Start Date: May 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, ongoing
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, school hours
Competitive daily rate (based on experience)
