Position Overview: We are urgently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Behavioural Learning Needs Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse behavioural challenges, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance they need to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with complex behavioural needs, both inside and outside the classroom setting.
- Implement individualized behaviour management strategies and interventions to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans for students.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social interaction, communication, and independence.
- Monitor and document student progress, behaviors, and achievements, reporting any concerns or developments to relevant stakeholders.
- Actively participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and training programs to enhance knowledge and skills in supporting students with complex behavioural needs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience working with individuals with complex behavioural needs, preferably in an educational or similar setting.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies, with the ability to adapt approaches to meet individual student needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when faced with challenging behaviours or situations.
- Flexibility and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Relevant qualifications or training in areas such as special education, psychology, counselling, or behaviour management are desirable but not essential.
