About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with ASD. You will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other professionals to provide tailored support that enhances the learning experience for our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with ASD, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging, differentiated learning activities.
- Support students in developing social, emotional, and communication skills.
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans effectively.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and parents to monitor and report on student progress.
- Promote an inclusive and nurturing environment to help each child thrive.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with ASD or other special educational needs.
- A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting students’ individual needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
