Afterschool Club Support – Hodgehill

Location: Hodgehill, Birmingham
Duration: Part-time, 3:10pm- 6:30pm
Salary: Competitive, with SEN allowance if applicable

 

About the Role:

We are collaborating with a variety of outstanding primary schools in and around Hodgehill. These schools are seeking dedicated support staff to assist in their afterschool / wrap around care club. There is some flexibility regarding the hours/days worked in the wrap around care, the school are ideally looking for someone with prior school experience, or relevant qualifications as listed below.

 

Accepted Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching and Learning in Schools.
  • Level 3 Health and Social Care.
  • Diploma in Education and Training.
  • Level 3 in Childcare and Education.
  • Early Years Education / Early Years Practitioner Qualification.
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant Qualification.
  • Level 2 or higher in Administration, with SIMS experience.

Requirements:

  • Recent or relevant experience in a primary setting within the UK, or experience working with children and young people in another capacity.
  • Availability during term time, between the hours 3:10pm – 6:30pm.
  • Strong environment and behaviour management skills.
  • Skills and experience suited to working with children.
  • Experience and/or qualifications regarding food hygiene would be desired but not a necessity.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities include adhering to school policies and procedures, as well as ensuring the safeguarding of all pupils in your care. Prior knowledge or experience in tracking and monitoring attendance is preferred. You will also be responsible for monitoring and managing behaviour, ensuring that children adhere to established school rules. Additionally, you may be required to provide feedback to parents or carers regarding their child’s school day or experiences within the afterschool club.
