Location: Ilford
Pay: £24.00-£30.90 per hour
Hours: Full-time

Duration: 5 month contract with the possibility to be extended

 

About the Role:
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people to lead crime-free lives? We’re looking for a dedicated Advanced Youth Offending Service Officer to join our team. This role involves managing a caseload of youth justice cases, delivering effective interventions, and working collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of youth justice cases, including out-of-court disposals and statutory court orders, adhering to National Standards and the HMIP Inspection Framework.
  • Provide support and interventions using the Child First, Offender Second approach to help children and young people complete their orders and live crime-free lives.
  • Use AssetPlus as an assessment and planning tool, with a focus on trauma-informed practice, desistance factors, and building foundations for positive change.
  • Collaborate with children, young people, families, and partner agencies to deliver effective, evidence-based interventions that reduce offending and re-offending risks.
  • Prepare high-quality Pre-Sentence Reports, Stand-Down Reports for Court, and Panel Reports for Referral Order Panels or other forums.
  • Represent the Youth Justice Team at court hearings and effectively present case information.
  • Deliver interventions that ensure the safety of children and young people while protecting others.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practices throughout all areas of work.
  • Requirements
  • Qualifications: Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work, with active Social Work England registration.
  • Experience: Proven experience in youth justice or a related field, with a solid understanding of trauma-informed practice and case management.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the National Standards, HMIP Inspection Framework, and the principles of effective youth justice practice.
  • Enhance DBS on the update service
  • Driver with access to a car
  • 3 years referencing
